Is using the perl downloader a bannable offense?

Up until recently I wasn't able to load this website while it worked fine for others. Was this a website error, or was I temporarily blocked for anything? Thanks for the help in advance.

Actually, a few recently-deployed changes broke the API, so you didn't get banned or anything like that. No ETA on when this'll be fixed, though.

And as far as using applications to automatically download images, you're fine. Just don't hammer it more than you really need to.
