Oh cool. I could totally get into this more if I could understand japanese lol.

Most of the people that like it in the US don't know Japanese either, actually.

Start with reading up a little on TouhouWiki (when did that move to Wikia? I wish it hadn't- tis ugly) and give the games a shot, and just go from there.

It's okay to do Easy mode. If Normal is too much for you, Easy is where you ought to try building your skills.

Besides, in Imperishable Night, you might have to do Easy in order to unlock everything anyway.

BTW, Touhou Wiki moved over to Wikia around the weekend before last. You can choose whatever skin you want on it, and it's certainly prettier than those 503 Errors that Pooshlmer's site threw at us like so much danmaku.

Seriously. The change is MOST welcome, because in the past month or so I've been lucky to get the old site to load more than 1 in 3 times.

Its actually surprising how much sprung up around a set of shooter games. I still don't quite understand how that happened.

I can beat IN on hard but can't do any of the newer games on anything more than easy.

Id suggest mininova. Try to get install directories if possible, because installing from a .iso can be a pain. Only a few of the games have translation patches, but its no big deal since the text is only a small part of the game.

Also, make sure you focus (shift key) to dodge huge masses of bullets, and your hitbox is way, way smaller than you are (The dot when focused).

The packages on Doujinstyle aren't broken at all. If they came out corrupt for you, you should just redownload the packages to resume your download. Just be sure to delete the score.dat file, unless you don't mind someone else's progress, high scores, captured spell cards, and unlocks.

Downloading all of them at once from a torrent is pointless as "all" varies from year to year as more games come out.

Their copy of Imperishable Night has a incomplete translation patch, and can't be patched with the full one. I tried downloading EoSD at least ten times before I gave up and went looking for a batch torrent. That's good enough to count as "broken" for me.

And you'd think they could at least upload a clean copy of the games, Leaving the scores in is just sloppy.

10/10, Excellent troll, Would rage again.

Just so you know, I'm speaking from personal experience. I have no idea what this "incomplete translation patch" on IN is about. If you're using the one from http://radicalr.pestermom.com/game.html, you need to say yes when it asks you to restore from backup. It works just fine. There are two versions of EoSD floating around. One that can be played on Western copies of Windows but cannot be patched, and the ones that will fail, even WITH Applocale running. If you want to be able to patch it, you want the latter of the two. The patch for EoSD can be found at http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Embodiment_of_Scarlet_Devil:_English_patch and the patch for PCB can be found at http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Perfect_Cherry_Blossom:_English_patch

Lastly, on that trolling charge. I didn't meant to hurt your feelings. I just don't think you'd enjoy downloading a torrent of "All Touhou Games" (as of mid 2006), and while you seed that, download an individual torrent of SWR. Mininova doesn't have a torrent for MoF, and the only torrent there with I&MP is dead. At least with Doujinstyle, you can delete the files that shouldn't be there. And I agree that it's sloppy, but not as bad as this.

I'll have to get back to you later on the patch stuff (I was probably mistaken) but I was able to find working torrents of the other three games with about 5-10 minutes of looking on Tokyo Toshokan.

And the trolling comment was intended to be a joke.
