Danbooru

Where can I download Danbooru?

Posted under General

As of 0343hrs, one of my team members found the reason the installation hit a complete stop, if anyone is having problems, be sure to use rubygems 1.4.0 with base Debian as the OS for no headaches. after getting these things in place, took us three and a half hours to get danbooru online. IF anyone is interested in a virtualboxed danbooru all nice and setup, id be happy to upload one, just reply.

By ruby-1.4.0, did you mean rubygems-1.4.0? 'Cause I've never heard of the former.

I'd also like to note that Gentoo is also a good choice for setting up an instance of Danbooru. I've done it before, and it was quite pain-free.

Is there any chance that rubygems-1.6.x might work? It's available in the Debian-{testing,unstable} repos.
You could rig Apt to selectively place a priority on rubygem-related packages from one of those repos, while still having packages from Debian-stable preferred everywhere else.

The benefit of this is cleaner integration, because it would be managed by Apt, and would also have Debian-specific patches applied to it.
For example, the Debian-packaged rubygems puts manually-installed gems in /var/lib/gems, instead of /usr/lib/ruby/gems - this prevents manually-installed gems from getting mixed-up with gems installed by Apt.

Updated

i dont think so actually, i just treid migrating, and a fresh install ( of everything os included ) to rubygems 1.5, we hit the same failures we were having before, so USE 1.4.0, we will. (side note, on the fresh install, we reinstalled 1.4.0, BOOM, worked like a fresh machine.)

Hey Mr.X if the offer is still up, I'm willing to KILL 4 a "IF anyone is interested in a virtualboxed danbooru all nice and setup, id be happy to upload one"

Please reply to this port if u see it. Or anyone.

I don't have much time (any time actually) to spare but I do need my own offline imageboard with tagging.

I'll try shimmie in the meantime but a set-up danbooru server image would be PERFECT!

I completely second this. Looking for "my own offline imageboard with tagging" brought me here lol. Going to try to install the danbooru source code myself but I don't have high hopes

Any update on getting that virtualbox image?
Slowly going insane trying to get this to install/run.

Both the SVN & github install scripts don't seem to work properly either. The github one seems to work after installing a missing dependency (sendmail-bin), but it still seems to return various errors (Which it ignores).

It could also be useful to maybe have an actual up to date guide on how to install and run danbooru from scratch.
This seems to be the latest one I can find, and that's two years old.
