Reason: "Swap" is more readily interpreted as a trade than "switch", which could be taken in the sense of an alternate costume. See also *_swap -costume_switch sans palette_swap (and, if one insists, Wife Swap ).

The logic was "swap" indicates characters wearing clothing switched in pairs but "switch" can be a full-on shuffle.

Then my petty rationalization is that multiple swaps could have taken place!
