...Something inside me broke from the look on Hourai's face. And it's going to need happy Hourai and Shanghai's hugs to fix again. I so totally did not expect this...

Definitely NOT from Mori no Hon. Tomorrow and day after are important exams for me and I'm gloomy now.T^T

Nevertheless, this release reminded me how good a storyteller Mori no Hon is, so I'm going to call it a day.

Epic cliffhanger is epic. My mind is in uproar over the confused emotions from the first ecstatic glee from a new Mori no Hon comic and the sorrow and pain from seeing Hourai so deeply emotionally troubled and her disappearance.

This is storytelling on a whole different level. Touhou fan work or not, this comic should be in any library, along with so many other great works.

The pain until the final installment will not be easy to bear and I am well aware that I'll just exaggerate the pain by reading the first three volumes again and again until then.

I'm also reminded that the best Touhou doujinshi are those that can stand separate from (the popularity and name value of) Touhou and still be considered a good piece of work.

I agree 100%. Those are the doujins you remember and read again and again.

It's not Alice's fault for not knowing of Hourai's possessiveness of her attention and lack of existantial self-condifence.

That said, why did Marisa decide to keep Alice in the dark again?

I think it was because Patchy advised against letting Alice know so that they could study Hourai first.

    Also, shot through the heart.

...because houari ask her to, which backfire on her in the long run.

So it's part Alice's fault that she didn't sense she had TWO automotion dolls in her house and its part Houari's fault for keeping Alice in the dark...Damn I'm looking too much into this.

I'm still blaming Marisa for being a rotten friend in general.

Huh? I don't see nothing wrong in Marisa behaviour in this or the other works actually she was the one who suggested Hourai sew Shanghai's new dress and write each other as friends also I believe you can't really blame Alice she didn't know about Hourai and tecnically this is the first automaton doll she meet so you can't blame her to be very excited.

Wouldn't it be grand if guys like Morino Hon could get publishing deals for this kind of work?

    After rereading this...
I noticed something really smart and beautiful...
The tear coming from Hourai's eye... it was from the rain...
Which is pretty smart, unless I am wrong and Hourai can cry ._.

Believe it or not, this actually benefited my academic works. I'm planning to base my essay, about the imperfection of deontology and how best intentions can actually lead to horrifying consequences, on this doujinshi.

Ah, thank you for expressing interest. This is a work of fiction so I can't submit an essay based on it to the college though. Probably going to share with classmates at best. Nevertheless, food for thought and material for writing practice essays are beneficial indeed.

Ah, I remember. It was post #457526 that Hourai leaving Alice was first implied, though I doubt Mori no Hon planned it that far ahead.

By the way, it was stated in Zwei that Hourai (and likely Shanghai as well) would run out of magical energy if they're separated from Alice for too long. I wonder what this leads to in the next issue.

Although in the same one it seemed to imply that going dormant (effectively sleeping) would allow them to recharge themselves to functionality. It wouldn't be the almost instant recharge of being in Alice's presence but she might be somewhat self sufficient.

Alice's obliviousness in part is shown in the first volume as she might be thinking that the odd behavior of Houari was her subconsciously giving orders or her spells malfunctioning. The thought of those two awakening without her having to do something could be something that never crossed her mind. A mental blind spot if it would be.

The interesting thing is when the truth comes out. How will Alice feel knowing that she was so blind to the obvious.

Considering how what she desired was right in front of her all along? And when she finds out Hourai's feelings? She will feel like crap.

Wasn't it because Hourai's saying in the Eins? The "doesn't want her to change" or something. I still don't remember it clearly for this is the first time I read this but it's something like that.
