I thought it was a 3 minute one for Kogasa. Or hour. Kogasa really likes food, so its not like mere minutes matter.

Mizuki-san's commentary says it was just some fried stuff (doesn't specify, but probably potatoes), and the floor looked so clean, he figured he'd try, but he realized how shameful it was and backed off, with apologies to the god(s) of food. He then got a new plate and filled up.

Mizuki seems like he'd be an interesting person to know in real life.

When you're conditioned not to waste even a single bit of food, it's surprisingly hard to break the habit, even if there's a risk of lacerating your stomach.

Don't do that ever, I still don't mind if food falls off onto the floor (I always feel like wasting food is the equivalent of murder, especially since I've had a time where I starved for 3 days due to shortages), but if it's broken dishes, I might say something (to be fair this happened to me once, I brushed off the dish pieces, and ate it, only to get a bleeding mouth because some broken glass was also present apparently).

Maybe it helps if you think of the broken glass as anti-food, so they cancel out and there's nothing left on the floor but a mess?
