I dont know. If it's hot you can undress but there is a limit to that (besides being naked could be actually worse if you are under the sun).
But on freezing places you just get more and more clothes until you can barely move but you are warm enough.

I wonder to what extent giving Kogasa drinks like that is out of genuine concern for her welfare, and how much is them just being jealous that she wasn't sweating.

I'm typically assuming that I'm in a resturant type place with unnecessary cold-as-hell air-conditioning, which I really hate. At least if I'm in a hot place, I only sweat and feel hot, and I don't shiver. Only thing I don't like about hot places compared to the cold is the annoying itches you get.

Not sweating under heat doesn't equal to coolness. It means you're gonna have a heatstroke, faint and/or a really bad case of dizziness & seizure. So they're actually helping.

I used to think that it's cool not sweating under heat though. Until I fainted and had a terrible headache. After that I always make sure I drink enough water.

    From the commentary:

There are stories of how clouds formed in the second-floor annex of Harumi Meeting Hall, and I was there at the time. "Clouds" would be an exaggeration, but it was enough to get misty, and that's pretty incredible.

This morning, however, there was a mist of sweat that was no less impressive. Edges got all blue and blurry, you see. (lol)

Man, I just can't take that kind of heat.

I Tweeted this story on Twitter, but when I Tweeted, "Whoo, I've stopped sweating!" everyone got really ticked off at me.

This reminds me of the time I was in Korea visiting relatives (when I was relatively young), it was a sweltering hot day, reaching up to 40 degrees or something and I was outside with a bunch of friends who were sweating, whilst I was there simply enjoying the sun. Couple hours later I woke up in a hospital confused told I had fainted under the intense heat and given batches of isotonic drinks to rehydrate and recover my energy with. 3 years later, I find myself in a similar situation this time, I drank lots of water and kept it with me, later on, I visited a doctor who said the amount of water within me was perhaps a little too high. Sometimes I have no idea what my body is telling me.

Damn, I know how it feels...

Yesterday, it was 31 Celsius degrees while I was on university without a properly working air conditioner and I couldn't even open the windows because they're broken...

Is Japan so committed to saving energy by keeping the A.C. off that they are willing to put peoples health at risk?

C80 was held during the middle of the whole 2011 Earthquake/Tsunami and Fukashima nuclear crisis. Many rolling blackouts were planned months after the incident occurred, and could be the reason why they might have not turned the A/C on at the convention.

More people throughout history have died from cold than from heat. There are also more ways to die from the cold than from heat.

I laughed a bit from this, but suddenly I stopped laughing because quite a bit earlier I feel the same way as Kogasauthor here.

Well, that's the problem: pure water is not the best solution to dehydration.

When you sweat, you lose water, obviously, but you also lose electrolytes. If you replace the water, but not the electrolytes, you put yourself at risk of a condition called "water poisoning" or "water intoxication," which can be fatal. It can even happen when you aren't sweating away much, but are putting so much water in your body it's diluting the electrolytes you have to too low a level.

Obviously, it's not a problem if you drink a couple of glasses of water when you're sweating, but if you're going to be doing a lot of sweating, it's a good idea to use something like Gatorade, which replaces not just the fluid but electrolytes.

Huh, it's steaming hot and I'm not even sweating!
    Wha'?
This isn't good, Kogasa!! Drink some water, drink!!
One of the early symptoms of a heatstroke is when you stop sweating. Please take proper note of changes in your physical condition.
