This is actually historically accurate. Ki-61s were used to ram B-29 Superfortresses late in the war. There was actually a unit that utilized this tactic alone.
Note that they were supposed to ram the aircraft. Not NECESSARILY kamikaze. And, yes, ramming was a tactic in WW2. Sometimes the ramming aircraft survived just fine, too. Probably wouldn't count too much on it with a B-29 being the target, however.
