Our bowling allys had both. Slides and guard rails. It was honestly pretty normal to see Kids get a bunch of strikes or spares in a row.

EDIT: Just noticed ChibiMiku's ball has one too many holes.
Just looked up on google, the ball C-miku is using is designed for kids, it has two extra holes for more grip.
Man, at our bowling alley all we had were bumper guards, so it was STILL possible to get a gutter ball if you were as skilled as I! Wish we had these slides!
