Snow Moon
A term for the full moon in February, originating in the US. Early uses claim it to be a Native American term, without clarifying which language or nation. The Lunaape term "Xwahteewi-koon Niipaahum," generally translated as "Deep Snow Moon," coincides with February and therefore may be the source. So named because it is the time of the year when the most snow falls.
