Ah, the horrible feeling of being preoccupied and then thinking you've heard your name on a PA announcement, but not knowing what it said at all.
(or rather a gate change announcement, close enough)

Before translation: I'm guessing Kogasa missed some important announcement regarding her flight?

Darn, gonna miss the next few strips while I'm out of town. Maybe he'll still not be in Boston by the time I get back.

The domestic flight announcements at LAX are unflinchingly all English, and read off pretty fast, too, so I could hardly understand any of them. The four-hour connection layover was pretty superficial, so I spent the whole time in the airport. :-)

By the way, I heard from some people over there that you can use outlets in the U.S. as you please, and no one will really complain. All sorts of differences between different countries, huh.

Residential power voltage in the U.S. is 110v, which can be dangerous if your power source isn't compatible, so be careful.

Today's poll tries to prevent disaster...but not very hard:

    Kogasa-saaan!!
    • Let's go ask the desk staff!
    • Let's go check the monitor!
    • Let's have Sanae-san check it out!
    • Meh, things are fine as-is!
    • Never mind that, I want to eat udon!

Monitors are our friends. I always keep checking them because I'm very bad at hearing announcements.

Mains in the US is 120V at 60Hz, not 110V. In Japan it's 100V with 60Hz in west Japan and 50Hz in east Japan. The same 2-pin outlets are used in both, although, the 3-pin outlets used in the US are uncommon in Japan and some older Japanese outlets will not take a polarized plug.

The voltage and frequency differences are small enough that much equipment will work fine but some sensitive equipment can be damaged.

Luckily, most power bricks are not 'sensitive equipment'. Seriously, anything made for civilian use is rated 100(110)-230V@50-60Hz, I've yet to see anything outside an electronics lab that has stringent voltage/frequency requirements.

    Try most Digital Clocks.
Seriously, middle aged tech Digital Clocks (not the 2000s Atomic link or the later Internet link) tell time based on the Hz of their power connection...
But the difference shouldn't affect anything with a surge subroutine... which is most modern technology.
Anything from the 1990s will also go crazy, trust me, I went traveling back then and found out the hard way.
My equipment fried, although I'm lucky a local techie repaired it in half a hour.

Aw man, reminds me of my experience at Incheon Airport in Korea, Narita Airport in Japan, and O'Hare in Chicago. ANNOUNCEMENTS ARE SO DAMN FAST and monitors are soooo far apart. Remember pulling a Warugaki-style airport rush because the different concourses in O'Hare are HUEG.

I get the feeling Kogasa-san is going to be getting a good bit of forced exercise in the next strip.

    There was a charging station.
    Awesome!♡
I still have two and a half hours until the next flight...
So it's nice to have power.
Since I don't have time for sightseeing in L.A.
    Really?
