Almost surreally beautiful really, until you remember that the sheer damage the Ulysses caused more or less wreaked half a continent, and lead the way to two major wars (which caused even MORE damage and death) in it's aftermath.

Major fragments of Ulysses were still in orbit in 2008 when the Arkbird was retrofitted to engage them. Though it cleared a lot of space, I wouldn't be surprised to see small chunks like that still falling in 2016.
