Looks to me like she's trying to corner our king. Moving our rook in the way would do jack shit, so it looks like moving our king out of the way is our only reasonable option.

I don't care much for the outcome of the game. Playing with Hanako is always a win in my book.

It's just like the damn game. Photo background, drawn characters and objects.

The chess and the sea makes me think of The Seventh Seal, which is just silly.

More importantly it seems to be 9 long.

There's an eighth column; you can just about see it starting on the left side of the image. Hint: black queen is moving from its initial position.

Unfortunately, there does appear to be nine rows; that, or the last row on our side is long, or the king is a stub.

Are we winning? I can't tell. =/
