What I still don't see is why it's a parody? It's not like it's making fun of the original, just a reinterpretation in a different style, which does not make it a parody...

This is official art of Silver Star tower from GrimGrimoire, not a parody.

    No, you're wrong.

fine art parody is used on Danbooru whenever a work references a classic. Don't remove a tag before understanding what it means.

Hm. Interesting interpretation of the word 'parody'. But ultimately, I'll chalk it up to curbing tag proliferation.

Until you can prove that Vanilla meant to make a parody from Babel tower, instead of simple similarities, this is not a parody.

It's nice of you to assume that I'm clueless to the tag's usage and wiki.

This is what I had in mind. I recognized the drawing as the Tower of Babel, but not what made it a parody. I'm guessing a "fine art reference"-tag would suit it, though I don't know if such a tag would be used much. In any case, I'd say the tower of babel-tag should stay, given the clear inspiration.

It's nice, yes, because it was the best case scenario.

See, I don't have to prove anything. fine art parody doesn't care for the artist's intention, but for referencing a classic, something this picture plainly does. If you can't see the referencing, I have nothing else to say.

For the records, I'm against a fine art referencing tag, because choosing between it and fine art parody would involve guessing the artist's intention, and that way lies madness.

    Nice backtracking.

You originally call it a fine art parody linking to the Wiki page implying you're using the term 'parody' to categorize this.

It's clearly obvious to everyone that this is not a parody, but a reference to the tower put into the game. <- This is not up for debate.

Go read what the tag means on the wiki. See if it mentions "parodying" there. This is about keeping things consistent. If people would rather keep this tag only for humorous homages (parody), then change the wiki's text.
