Ha, the Gojira is just an extra large hamburger, according to Eagles's site: 1lb of burger, 4 slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and 1/2lb of fries.

...Other than sheer amount, what's the appeal? The only burger on that menu that interested me was the Cowboy. I'll take a more standard sandwich over a hamburger any day. Preferably roast beef or prosciutto di parma.

This Momiji is Genichiro, not Momiji-Momiji.

The official description of the burger is "5lbs of burger, 20pcs of bacon, 20pcs of american cheese, 5lbs of fries, 1 deli pickle, and a fountain soda." To his credit, Genichiro did finish the entire burger, and arranged for the fries to be eaten so they wouldn't go to waste.

I hear the place's name is "Eagle's Deli Restaurant", to be specific. I believe I ordered the "Turkey Burger", but I don't remember now. :-) It was definitely an amount I could finish off!

There were a few other conditions about the Challenge Burger, but I'll get to that tomorrow. By the way, the exact converted value of 1 pound is 453.59 grams.

Reader-added tags include "godzlla" (a typo which Mizuki-san may fix later on), "It's a series of surprises, Kogasa-san", "American size" and "Hungry Momi".

The survey, no surprise, is about food choices:

Let's go to Bikkuri Donkey for some hamburger!
    • Curryburger dish
    • Egg curryburger dish
    • Cheese curryburger dish
    • Pineapple curryburger dish
    • Just hand over the curry, already!

In my neck of the woods, the Andy's restaurant franchise has the Big A-- a 50 oz burger (that's 3 1/8 lb, or a little over 1417g) that's free if you finish in half an hour. Last year, at an official contest, a guy ate it in 3 minutes, 2 seconds.

    I haven't tried it myself.

Woohoo, that's definitely me for sure this time! (Thanks for drawing me in your comic, Mizuki-san!)

That was the best burger, ever! I should have purged my stomach via fasting for a couple days, though. Oh well, a lesson I learned for the next time.

I should note that this burger is so serious they made me sign a waiver before hand, stating I wouldn't hold Eagle's Deli responsible for any health problems that came from eating the Challenge Burger by myself.

For the poll, I'll take the pineapple curryburger dish, because it sounds awesome.

Eagle's... this was featured on Man vs. Food, right?

Also was that guy able to finish the challenge in 1 hour? I remember in the video he had to go to the bathroom, but I couldn't remember if he still had to finish the burger.

Yeah Adam faced a local Adam with a condition that the one who ate the most has the loser wear a I <3 Boston/NYC shirt. Local won by 1/2 a pound.

So, yet again, we Americans have impressed Mizuki with our craziness. Is this an occasion where I should shout "USA! USA! USA!" or not?

I wonder if this will impact the way that Mizuki talks about how big an appetite he has in the future?

Oh good god, that monstrosity of a burger. I rode in with the second wave so I wasn't able to get video of Geni ordering the bloody thing, but I have the grizzly progress: http://youtu.be/3fij3Jt6KR0 (if you didn't watch it yesterday), http://youtu.be/Ub7ej0hZH2A , http://youtu.be/1rASZpyc6jM , http://youtu.be/oRKniCL89-A , and http://youtu.be/XaVoyQZZW6I . Also, amusingly enough, the Cowboy is actually what I got last year; it's pretty good.

Looking at the photo, the Challenge burger doesn't seem so bad. You could demolish it okay with a fork and knife.

You should probably look and see just how much 10lbs of food really is... (5 for the burger and 5 for the fries, according to Suzuran Majere) I promise you, it is not pretty.

So you really have to eat the huge burger AND the fries? Just curious... Because eating the burger sounds somewhat feasible, but I would not even try to eat both.

Yeah, you have to eat it all, the five pounds of fries, five pounds of burgers, and two pounds of bacon/cheese. I could do it, if I fasted for a couple days. I only fasted for about twelve hours, so the burger was all I could manage. You can see from the photos I'm not a big guy; anyone could do if, if they wanted to. (For the record, I actually weighed a few pounds less than I did when I left for Boston; don't ask me how that works, just know that it does.)

this, the monsterburger isn't that bad, but the fries are harder as once they go cold, they'll be pretty hard to eat barring a good slathering of melted cheese/etc.

Reminds me of the time I ate a 18oz steak (+ appitizersa and side dish) and at the end there was absolutely no room for dessert. But that was one very good steak.

I can manage to easily consume 4 pounds of meat (and still not gain weight, don't know how), but when it's layered like that as a burger, I think I'd rather pull out. And considering the extras, I think trying to stuff that down my throat would be horrible and I'd be putting on a very horrid reaction from it. I can consume about 4 courses without getting full, provided the meal is balanced, but this set, I think I'll show the white flag.

I don't know whether I should applaud the person who tried it or look on with an uneasy expression.

I can polish the burger and fries, no problem, but no way I'm going to eat that with bacon and cheese on top. That's suicide.

The missing pounds must be the weight of your health, or something like this.

I'm surprised Kogasauthor got intimidated by a 1 pound hamburger. That doesn't seem like much...
