I'm like, way late for this, but there was a joke in early FFXIV (and FFXI in general) where Dragoons were very easily killed because of their animation lock. They used one of a variation of their signature Jump attack, and they wouldn't be able to move for the duration of the attack. Couple this with their abysmal magic defence and a lot of boss fights that used magic attack AoEs, and you have a running joke about idiot Dragoons getting themselves killed for their DPS (as well as having a retreat move that usually saw Dragoons flying off of stages when used in the wrong locations...)
