I just love how positively badass they look, even if they are technically playing shogi. Not sure if making a robot to play shogi for you counts.

It's not really a robot but a Helghan soldier from the game Killzone, at least that's what it looks to me. Certainly not a one to one copy, but there is a resemblance.

The killzone guys are based off soldiers from an anime. Helmet/glowing eyes gasmask doesn't belong to any one thing its been in so many things now.
