Assassin in China!

Ubisoft said they didn't want to do Japan? China's more than fine by me, there's lots of different time periods they can choose as the focus.

Maybe because it will probably bring unending argument about ninja and assassin.

Yeah probably, plus I knew already that when asked about setting an AC title in Japan they said they wouldn't do it since it seems too cliche. Still, this looks like legit concept art.

Also, the fact that there's like a bazillion ninja games already. While I'm not super fond of the Assassin's Creed franchise, I appreciate them using locations and eras you don't see all that often in videogames, like the american revolution or 16th century Istanbul/Constantinople.

I'm quite a fan myself, and it's nice that they touch upon and use various settings that typically aren't the backdrop for video games. China would be a good candidate for a newer title, that or set in Egypt during the reign of the pharaohs would be a real treat.

That sadly would never happen, since then they can't have a plot about Christianity being the source of all evil like usual.

AC1 was a pretty even split of muslim and christian templars.

The Templars aren't limited by faith or race, as the emperor of China during Shao Jun's time was a Templar.

I honestly think there should be a spin off game that should take place in China and not as one of Desmond's ancestors but as someone else.

Most likely it would be the Qing dynasty mainly because under Qing rule there has been alot of rebellions compare to other dynasty. There were many corruption mid through the late in the era, as well as assassination plots.

Where'd you hear this? I think the real reason was that they have a hard time justifying Desmond as being part-Japanese or something.

Although, I would still love to see an AC game set in East Asia since some of the obscure parts are hardly discussed. It's a good opportunity for historical in-jokes.
