Yeah, but Archie also hasn't aged a day or graduated from school in 50 years, either. Status Quo Is God because series like that are built around a single premise where character development and plot advancement are strictly forbidden.

If Archie ever really did marry someone for real, it would be the end of the series, because whatever audience there was for that series wouldn't want to see a mature Archie dealing with adult problems... and it's been going for 50 years, so that basically means "only when nobody even remembers Archie exists", and they're shutting the whole thing down.

Likewise, if you ship off the only guy with a girl in a Everyone Is Straight Gensokyo, you lose the awkward romance plotlines that are the only thing Futa ever does. (Which is why Everyone Is Bi Gensokyo is so much easier to work with...)

I think I'm too young to even know what you people are talking about. I know that Archie is some kind of printing house or something, but I wasn't aware he was a character.

He's not really dense he really just chooses not to notice. He isn't interested in what they WANT him to be interested in, which results in a dense effect when the last thing he would think about is romance and love. He's not just another dumb, dense man.
