Is there some reasonably common legend in Japan about a haunted trumpet, piano, and violin playing by themselves? Because I swear it's a common trope in Japanese-made video games, cartoons, and what-have-you (same with the "honest axe" and Princess Kaguya).

Well Kaguya and Hourai elixir are in old folktale about moon princess, japanese moon probe was even named Kaguya.
