Is there a reason why the damage is 65535, or (2^16)-1?

Gensoukyou must be running on a 16-bit architecture. Which stands to reason, since it's largely forgotten. The 32-bit upgrade shouldn't be far behind either...

that's stamina/psyche damage in MGS:peace walker when you headshot'd someone with Tranquilizer gun

Headshot or if you are knocked out when a supply item box drop on your head... which this trip seems to be referencing
