    B4trans:
    Don't promise anything, Nakapanda.

    After trans:
    Murphy screwed you, Nakapanda.
That's a good printer but can it run Crysis?

I know that feeling, the typical "demo effect".

Well, President Nakapanda has spent the entire day trying to convince these artists that their deadlines are important and shouldn't be pushed back, so... Just as planned?

Demos: only works during testing, always fails during actual demonstration.

Here's what appears to be a used 5500 going for ~$175k.

    Trouble hits suddenly.

Machines generally become cranky when you try to brag about them. Like when I bought a new PC, and the PC I'd been using up to then broke down!

Reader-added tags include "Just like pets, Kogasa-san", "Total cost: ¥46.2 million", and "Converted to an artifact spirit despite being new".

The survey loves the thrill of procrastination:

It's sure fun making a copy-'zine at the last minute!
    • Leave the copying to me!
    • Leave the folding to me!
    • Leave the sheet alignment to me!
    • Leave the stapling to me!
    • So, is the art ready yet?

Lesson of the day: Shit happens. Just meet the deadline and be done with it.

I'm afraid to ask, but...Why the specific reference to Crysis? I know nothing of it, so...Does it have sky-high RAM requirements or something?

Crysis has long been used as a layman's benchmarking system for gaming computers, as it has a high range of possible settings that were above the limits at most computers of the time. I believe the bottleneck it hit the hardest was the GPU, though.

Basically it's easier to say, "Oh yeah, my rig can run Crysis on the High setting" than it is to say "My rig has a PCMark score of ####."

At least someone can get the joke. And yes, the hardest it hit was the GPU then the Processor then the Memory. If it can run Crysis, then it can run most of the games on the market.

For the poll, where the hell is the art, man?

It's to the point where the game is better known as benchmark/tech demo than actual game.

The more I look at the first panel, the more it looks like President Nakapanda just poked Sanae in the chest.

Hm, so this Indigo thingy was ran on a modification of laser printer technologies (using liquid ink instead of toner).

But what is its advantage over ol' digital replicators (Risograph etc, which are based on mimeography)? On a PPM basis it's only 277 vs 135, which may not be that much for a doujin print run.

    Ah...
    Okay...
    What's that?
And so, next I'd like to introduce a reliable buddy to all of you who are worried about your deadlines.
I've called the manufacturer to adjust the system, so please wait for a bit!!
The printing press that requires no specific printing plates! The digital printer that can make books from even one volume alone!
Made by Hewlett Packard, it's the Indigo 5600!!
    Thank you so much!
And that's how doujinshi are made.
    Oh?
Boss! The Indigo's being rather cranky today!!
