The only way this could be better is if Beck's collection of sempai were actually talking to and encouraging him from their shadows in the sky, like Mufasa from The Lion King.

So it's been a few days since the games out. Metacritic gives it a score of 54 and most reviews aren't exactly flattering. Kind of depressing in the context of this image and disappointing in general if you ask me
Yeah, I've played and finished it (+DLC and at Hyper mode). To be honest, it was okay, not that bad but not that good either. In my opinion, Megaman series is still much more fun. The most disappointing aspect of Mighty No. 9 is the lifeless graphic. However, I'm not one that really care about that, so I'm okay with it. The dash function can be a bit bothersome at times and the level designs is pretty sadistic. About 3 out of 4 of my deaths is because of instant kill stage hazards.
All in all, I would give it somewhere around 7/10. I think the biggest problem with it is the expectations of people and those horrible marketing strategies. Also, the trailer is one of the worst trailers I've ever seen.

To be honest that's a pretty typical score for most Megaman games past 1995.
It's an 80's style game being released in 2016. It has to compete in an industry that's completely taken over by FPS's, mobas and casual stuff. It's really only suitable for a niche indie crowd and no one else.
And then the game was released causing the torch to be given back.
edit: By that I mean Megaman/Rockman marched right over to Beck, Ripped the torch out of his hands, and hit him over the head with it before going off to do Megaman 11/Rockman 11: Gears Of Fate.
