Alright, so I haven't drawn in a while and I was starting to feel like "You know what? I want to draw," so I drew. It didn't help that I didn't know what to draw either, but that's not a good reason to not draw, right?

I had been playing some Koumajou Densetsu that weekend and was really impressed by the artwork in there and thought to try emulating the style as an exercise. I think I got about 40% of the way there before I discovered I didn't know what I was doing and how to make that final 60%. I guess that's why some people ask for art tutorials? Up until now it had always seemed a little silly to me to ask "how do you draw ___?" You see it, and then you draw it - done! Right? It's a method that works well enough for anime and manga, but man, a lot of these CG techniques are not as intuitive.

Anyhow, here's some Princess Peach, in case you couldn't figure out who she was. I decided to take some artistic liberties and try making her look a little more refined and a little less...like a moron? She has this permanent "oh!" face in some pictures that doesn't make her look too bright. Well, regardless of how rudely I describe a lady, it was a fun piece that took roughly 4 days to complete, and I got some good lighting practice on this. It's not my usual style, but it's fun to stand up and stretch every once in a while.
