-Jinx The public opinion of this chapter was pretty much split down the middle. I can't say I'm surprised. Incidentally, I was rather pleased with how it turned out. The calling the name three times thing was originally from a popular manga. Honestly, I'm surprised that I endeed up putting it in. I probably should have drawn Satoko calling out Satoshi's name with a broken expression on her face, but I wasn't really able to.

During the second half of tatarigoroshi-hen there really wasn't much focus on Rika. Being a fan of Rika, Idon't think that she would just spend her days idly. Surely she would be doing something to help Satoko, right? I thought about what that something might be... and this chapter was my conclusion. That's kind of dumb, isn't it?

quiz, it ended up becoming moore light-hearted. I just thought that starting off all lovey-dovey and then switching to the great hinamizawa disaster would be too depressing. Hmm, give that it didn't really live up to my expectations, I think it was unsuccessfull in that regard. Anyway, I had a ton of fun drawing the young Rika from Himatsubushi-hen.

-Moonlit dress I thought that just having a conversation with Hanyuu would make a pretty good chapter, but because this is the Higurashi series, I decided to go through the trouble of giving it a darker tone. In this book, if I was ever unsure of which direction to take a chapter, I wwould always trend towards making it darker. If I didn't, every single chapter would end up being a lighthearted chat. -I AM AN Alien This was originally supposed to be a laid back manga with Rena and Rika talking together while sitting on a bench, but some way or other it turned into an exciting L5 manga. Nowadays I think that I used to have a thing where I needed to make my manga all flashy and stuff. I don't think that Rika's acting would go unnoticed by Rena. Yet because she keeps interacting with her normally, that alone is pretty grown up.

-A person to Care for Me The title should have a feeling of Rika taking care of Mion in her last moments of being herself, and Mion is doing the same for Oryou as she reached the end of her life. Ah, I really really love the customs of the Three Great Families. It's been said that Mion is frightening but, hey, that's because she's a girl. Self-deprecation, jealousy and sarcasm are all the things that I personally find to be moe... I love gritty stuff like that in my girls. I really wanted to
