    after i drew this picture a lot of people who reblogged it suggested that phantump, when it was alive, could have been the child who owned banette when it was still only a doll. So i tried to imagine what their reunion would be like :’)

    For those who doesn't get it:
    Phantump's dex entry says that it is born when a child died while lost in the forest. As for Banette, it is born from a doll coming to life after it was abandoned by a child.In this context, this Phantump was a girl who probably dropped her doll in the forest accidentally. At one point, the doll then came to life(and presumably changed its shape in the process) and became Banette as it was abandoned.The girl later misses her doll and returns to search for it but she herself became lost in the woods. As she died and became a Phantump, she is unaware of her own death and therefore continued searching for her doll, who presumably already became a Banette.The girl(now a Phantump) and the doll(Banette) sought out each other, with Banette referring to its owner as "Mama", as a girl would treat a doll as her own child.The two finally reunite, both now in their Ghost Pokemon form. As Banette had transformed from its original doll appearance, Phantump is unable to recognize it, possibly due to not being aware that she herself is no longer a human, the Banette however, recognizes its "Mama" and broke into tears either because from the joy of reunion, or sorrow as it now acknowledges that its owner is now dead.
