I don't know... the big G man' win loss record doesn't make Gipsy Danger' chances look too good.

G's big ability is his regeneration; most battles result in some sort of sacrificial victory, with him considered dead. (He's fully regenerated from just his still beating *HEART*) I vote Gipsy, with heavy, heavy damage, and at least 2 re-matches. Godzilla doesn't go down easy.

What about Goji's breath? Not sure GD's mobile/durable enough to render it a non-factor, and if Goji can absorb the radiation from GD's engine, that could potentially lead to other problems. That said, Goji has a history of trouble with well-operated mech-types. I too can totally see this becoming a "best of" series, with GD winning the initial encounter. Dunno who would win in the end though. Mutually assured destruction is a possibility.

Mutually assured destruction with a little bit of Godzilla left to eventually be exposed to radiation and thus regenerate, while GD's pilots and support crew survive to rebuild and improve.

Thereby ensuring at least one sequel.

    I can get behind this.

    This can actually happen, possibly.

Legendary Pictures owns both copyright to Pacific Rim and the license to Godzilla. So if they think it will get them some profits then they might do a crossover. Good thing crossovers have proven profitable(Avengers).

So in a few years if enough people can get the message to Legendary that they would like something like this then we quite likely will see Gipsy Danger fist fighting Godzilla.

Isn't the Gypsy twice Godzilla's size? Even the Heisei Godzilla only massed at 130,000 tons. His largest opponent, Biolante, was only 200,000. Godzilla's a shrimp.

No. GD tops out at... roughly 80 meters tall and is listed as about 7080 tons, according to his blueprint poster. Godzilla is either 50, 80, or 100 meters tall and weighs up to 55 thousand tons, and is repeatedly shown to be WAY THE HELL stronger than his size should allow, tossing around monsters that match or exceed his mass on several occasions.

To say nothing of Final Wars Godzilla, who could literally toss 30 thousand tons several dozen miles.

Oh, I thought the rating system they used in the movie referred to the size of the kaiju. Like a rating 1 would only be 100,000 tons, rating 2 would be 200,000, and so on.

I guess the mismatch goes the other way around lol

On the other hand, Godzilla's never had to deal with a gigaton blast which should have completely vaporized Slattern if it's mass rating is accurate.

Given the backstories of both Pacific Rim and Godzilla, it would make sense for the big G to be a holdover from the alien masters' previous attempt to colonize Earth, the one that didn't work out.

That said... an awful lot of Godzilla movies involve the big guy going up against humans and other giant monsters - he's traditionally portrayed as very territorial, and considers Earth to be his turf. What if Godzilla is a kaiju that went native? After 65 million years of slumber, he's slipped out from under alien control and has his own agenda... and he'll be just as happy to pound on the Johnny-come-latelies from the rift as on a Jaeger. Godzilla vs. Everyone is a tried and true formula.

Legendary own the IPs to both...

Given that Godzilla has ripped his way out of an artificial black hole (Godzilla vs Megaguirus), fired a blast powerful enough to send Ghidorah out of the atmosphere before obliterating him (Final Wars), survived getting hit by a freeze ray nearly Absolute Zero (Godzila vs Mechagodzilla III), as well as actively eating or redirecting radioactive energy (pick a movie from the Heisei series), I'd say the battle would have to be a vicious fisticuffs with multiple Jaegers tag-teaming Big G or using solid-shell/blade weapons rather than risk energy attacks or huge explosions, and even then getting banged around left and right.

Win or lose, it would be glorious.
