Is that eating one bean or whatever for every year you're old?

Yes. Just imagine what the Alliance members would get if they had joined in...

I don't know that Hijiri should be laughing in this case, she's no spring chicken.

Didn't she get stuck in limbo seal for over 1000 years? If that's the case then she ought to be pretty old by now, even if it slows down aging, she's still that many years older. Besides she's using magic to make herself look more youthful, which begs the question, was she even young when she was sealed?

She has about 300 less beans to eat at least.

Yeah, though it's still not known whether time flows the same or not in Hokkai. She might've been there longer than that.
She was already a grandma before learning the magic, since she sought it after Myouren's death because of old age. By the time of her sealing, she was most likely almost or over 100 years old.
Personally, I think she no longer cares about being old or youthful, based on her line in HM. She probably only used it to keep herself at her fittest state.

I'd argue that those ~1400 years after Miko's "death" upto her reawakening don't count.

But she's a physical god(kinda), and we count it for Kanako and Suwako.

As long as she looks fine and is not a dried up fossil who cares about age. If we went around calling all things over 1000 years old, old people then almost all elfs and other supernatural creatures/gods who don't look old physically would be considered old people. Kinda why I never got the whole granny thing the fan base thought up when none of them are physically old and have no age side effects.

No, I did mean god. And yes, she's a saint, but from SoPM we know that she is deity-fied and worshipped in Shinto. She also gains power through faith, which is how god works in Touhou. It's even apparent in HM.
Also, I just remembered that SoPM also stated that Byakuren no longer cares about immortality. She probably won't mind going back to her old lady form as long as she can still help the youkai and humans. Nothing wrong with being an old lady, now is there?

It seems, someone isn't fond of us simply discussing canon facts in a non-aggressive and intuitive way, by downvoting every comment that has facts.

No one's calling her a granny, I'm just saying, Hijiri should probably be eating just about as many beans as Miko here. Considering the whole POINT of Setsubun is to 'drive oni out' and 'eat a quantity of beans equal to your age', that's what we're discussing here.

What I mean mostly is that whereas Yukari and others have thousand(s) of years of life experience, Miko and Futo are pretty much just as "young" as they were ~1400 years ago. Just like Fry from Futurama may be over a thousand years old, but he was frozen during most of that time.

Everybody here is forgetting about Eirin. Having to eat a shipping container worth of soybeans each setsubun must suck.

Mental age, huh? Though I doubt it for someone like Miko, I got your point. But I don't think they'll take that as an excuse for setsubun.
But weren't they at least in their 20s or 30s(I'd even wager they're already all over 50) before choosing the Shikaisen method. They were the (prince)emperor, mother, and wife after all. Besides, it would be weird to seek immortality when you're still young.
In short, they were adults at the very least. I don't think the time after the first 40-50 years will make much of a difference to your mindset. That age is enough for people to start calling you old.

Not really. Just that she's off topic.
Which reminds me, someone like Eiki has it easy since she could just say she's ageless.

I would still count them as 1XXX years old (just like you said). It's the same principle to ages on old antiques or fossils. Just because a fossil was only alive during its time and was only recently unearthed, we don't call it: 'A 50 year old fossil at the time of its resurgence'. That being said, it's an interesting concept, being 'alive' for 1400 years and actually being alive for 1500 years like Mokou, I wonder how you'd feel about that, think of all those missed birthdays and christmas gifts.
