LOL why did I never noticed the whole game was on drugs because of the mushrooms? The flying blocks, getting giant, piranha plants in pipes, fire flowers, mushrooms, flowers, stars, clouds, mountains and almost everything has eyes and they're always looking at Mario.
Oh and don't forget the fire-breathing or the flying turtles.
And not any kind of mushrooms. He ate mushrooms that grew in the sewers, while doing a big cleaning job. The plumber then started to see weird things, and begun fighting small brown things that got too close to him in those sewers... And turtles and alligators too...
