    Maybe born after midnight on the same day, but died from causes unknown.
    This could mean Myon is Youmu's deceased twin, kinda like Aiden from Beyond: Two Souls

    I think you may have misread the label; that cylinder and those balloons are full of hydrogen. This can only end hilariously and/or horribly. Whatever the outcome I'm expecting the party to surprise everyone present.

    Of course, this is under the assumption that the most predictable outcome occurs.

    It's a Touhou manga style, of course it will end with the traditional explosion ending.

    If you put it as the ghost being another entity, maybe yes. A normal interpretation of ghosts is being wandering souls of dead people, so maybe, Myon born when Youmu "died". So, yeah, it can have a different birthday.

    Unless Youmu born half-souled, and attached to Myon since her first days, I don't know.

    Youmu is half-phantom, not half-ghost. They are not the same thing in Gensokyo.

    Speaking of birthdays a staff member at my high school gave me a big cinnamon roll that had a giant glob of frosting on it yesterday for some guys birthday who I dont even know. But it was delicious...

    Okay so I don't like talkin' about this sorta stuff, but I'll give it a shot.

    Maybe Myon and Youmu have different birth dates because Myon represents Youmu's soul, the phantom side as it were, and that came into being when Youmu started being less of a collection of cells in someone's womb and more of a baby. Youmu then has a birth date that's later than Myon's because of this.

    Or it's just a big joke and I'm reading into it as much as you guys are. I dunno :V

    Interesting theories. Though I agree with BrotherJohn that Yuyuko just wants to put the hydrogen to some use and hastily makes up an excuse for party. Somehow Youmu's expression on panel four makes me think she's not really buying it either. Judging from the blush Myon is.

    From what I know, Youmu+Myon are a single entity, only wired in such bizzare way that
    1) half of her soul is situated outside of the body in some phantom-like form (that could also take a human/ghost form, see IaMP/SWR/Soku spells);
    2) makes her neither dead nor alive, this property enables her to live in the Netherworld and also makes her 'pure' enough in Lunarian terms (devoid of death, so for example neither Shiki would see any lines on her);
    3) makes her neither human nor youkai, this sometimes messes with detection magic and fine-tuned spiritual (good against youkai) and physical (good against people) attacks.

    It's obvious here that Yuyuko is making stuff on the fly; but, official sources don't depict Youmu as a very bright person either, especially her chapter in CiLR, though, that may seem like this because she's surrounded by Yuyuko "I knew everything from the beginning and I don't see my food ready" Saigyouji, Ran "I have no idea either" Yakumo, Yukari "lololololol" Yakumo, Reimu "my intuition tells you to prepare Uranus" Hakurei and... CHARISMA.
    ...Yeah, not a bunch of people you'd look clever with.
