I thought Fujiko. F. Fujio made a "last chapter" early in the series, just in case, before he made more stories. 'Bout Nobita is already mature enough to not need Doraemon help anymore. The reference in post #1721346, i think, is of that chapter.

I think of it as a test-of-friendship rather than a final chapter. He came back after all. What might be an end is that of an doujinshi. I forgot the artist who made it though.

Actually, if I recall right the first end of Doraemon (the end of tankoubon 6) was made during a slow period that threatened the manga with cancellation. I think the 'end' took people by surprise and they demanded that the series get uncancelled, and the rest is history.

No, that's the last chapter of book 6.

This is from first chapter of book 7.
