Is that so? I know about Tanabata of course but hadn't made the connection to Rumia day. It WOULD explain the sudden uptick of Rumia pics in general though, 7th day of the 7th month seems to have encouraged extra.

Why is that so? I'm guessing a pun involving numbers/digits in Japanese, but I'm not seeing it.

The seventh day is called "nanoka", as in "So nanoka" (her catchphrase). So yeah, is a pun of some sort.
