I just noticed he put newbie Shoukaku ahead of veteran Kaga. Haha.

Inazuma is probably in her Kai phase right now, while Tenryuu is just a newly built level 1.

Yeah. Checking in her level, she is already at kai as normal destroyer gets kai at 20. Also her stats might be at max as well.

Tenryuu's gonna lose her fuel tanks to Inazuma again.

It's pretty common, since "desu" and "death" are pronounced by Japanese in virtually the same way. Inazuma says it in comics where she gets angry pretty often. (See post #1542491)

Fun fact: The Tenryuu class was designed specifically to be a leader of destroyer squadrons, and her design specs basically were "just make a bigger destroyer." (Although not a destroyer in the game - she's about 5 years older than even the oldest, most obsolete Mutsuki class that's in the game. 13 years older than Inazuma.) She was designed right at the end of World War 1, back when Japan and England were still buddies. (America actually forced them to break their treaty, fearing they would unite against America...) Laid down in 1917, commissioned in 1919. There were 20 years of the most rapid technological advancements in military weaponry between Tenryuu and WW2.

At the time of her design, the Minekaze-class (and later Fubuki-class) were revolutionary, although this was early on enough that everyone had a chance to copy Japan's success, nullifying the advantage. By the start of WW2, Tenryuu was functionally obsolete, but still serviceable, and it wasn't like the Japanese were coming up with replacements that quickly. In KanColle, however, she has a use in the role she was designed to perform: Leading destroyers in expeditions/Tenryuu Kindergarten.

Tenryuu's also one of the oldest shipgirls, with only the Kongou-class and Ise-class being older off the top of my head. (Even Houshou is younger than Tenryuu...)

Hehe reminds me of how back in Navyfield they just turned her into a DD, and used Tatsuta instead of her, and then misspelled the name, and she was god awful too being widely considered to be the worst DD in the game. Though to be fair she was fighting Gearings with twin six inch gun turrets, Q classes with 8 inch belts, and Shimakazes with 15 torpedo tubes and no guns doing 55 knots. Ah the good old days... Navyfield could be so gloriously stupid back during it's 'golden age'.

A shame neither World of Warships nor War Thunder sea forces are likely to allow anything like such madness, but assuming they bother adding the Tenryuu class we can at least be assured she'll still suck hardcore, just as she always has. Poor old Tenryuu, you just can't get any respect can you?

historically Tenryuu class was a late WWI-era design and was pretty much "take a destroyer and make it bigger and thus the leader of a destroyer fleet" in terms of concept but rapidly advancing ship tech allowed for destroyers that she was intended to lead to not only out-speed the Tenryuu but also out-gun her and the fact for a cruiser her armament was very anemic due to her class origin's has basically destroyer+ as well by the time WWII started she and Tatsua were already relegated to second-line unit status and the class because of their obsolescence few plans to modernize the class were floated about but none ever came into existence due to the losing war and eventually the lost of the ships as well as the fact they were really old and any truly effective modernization would require resources japan didn't have or want to give up for the ships of the tenryuu's class age.
