The problem with being really great at video games is that your friends will pretty quickly never want to play against you anymore.
The trick is to have friends who are competitive and actually want to learn how to get better.
You can quickly tell who a person is like depending on how they react upon losing a game. If they say "this game sucks," they're not interested. If they say "holy crap, how did you do that combo?" they'll be your battle rival.
