And think... there was once a proposal to make kana-only the standard for Japanese.

Pun jokes from Japanese comedians should have remind them the troubles it could bring. There's too much homophone in that language.

Although the Korean seems fine with abandoning kanji for phonetic-only characters.

This just all proves that the Japanese need to adopt a more sensible written language.
