Is splatoon a good comparison for kancolle when contextualized against this doujin?

They both have a seemingly lighthearted or at least fun surface for different gameplays, but if you try to dig at the lore (or whatever you can count for kancolle), you're in for a bleak, dark show like you've never seen before.
