3. A (I'm sure it's Takao and Atago)

5. D (DesDiv 17 wasn't incorporated to the DesRon 2 before the war)

Again, the explanations are also base from what I know (without Google/Wiki/Famitsu/CF/HK pool/ETC), also feel free to correct me if I committed some mistakes.

I just realize I made some mistakes here (I did browse from my previous comments), so maybe I'll correct it:

• Tama and Kiso were assigned to CruDiv 21.
• Ooi was never assigned to a SubRon (it was Kitakami), she was assigned to CruDiv 9 on 1941. When CruDiv 9 was disbanded, she was directly assigned to the Combined Fleet.

It’s also the direct prequel for this strip. Kasumi can’t remember all the codes, got known by Jintsuu and everyone got dragged into test. Naka-chan saw her sister do test and she copy it for her own class (apparently Sendai did the same)

Jintsu is said to be the most hard-fought warship during the WW2. Also the crew of Jintsu went through lots of extremely hard training.
I guess that's why people describe Jintsu as a drill sergeant.

Wouldn't some of these answers be (at the time) classified information?

Others are flat-out bad/trick questions. 1 would depend on who the message is for (ie. SF would mean different things for a naval officer versus an intelligence officer) and 4 would depend on the ration level being instituted at the time. (ie. Less time for full rations, more time for half rations)

Jintsuu was the flagship of Admiral Tanaka Raizo, the best destroyer squadron commander the IJN had during the war. I think some of Jintsuu's reputation for strictness comes from him in addition to the reputation of Jintsuu the historical ship herself.

Tanaka trained his destroyers hard and they proved themselves over and over again in the first half of the Pacific war. Then he was removed from the front line due to IJN internal politics -- I could have sworn there was a sakazaki freddie comic about that, but I couldn't find it. Ironically though, the greatest victory he and DesRon 2 achieved (the Battle of Tassafaronga) occurred while Jintsuu was laid up in Japan for repairs.
