    to her headband: .... if you read it backwards it seems to relate to her being in the 61st Destroyer Division...
    第61駆逐隊 <- in left-to-right
    隊逐駆16第 <- as written right-to-left

    This is very common in photographs of the ships of the Era... where the katakana is written right o left on the ship consistent with traditional tategaki.

    "In addition, the practice of writing horizontally in a right-to-left direction was generally replaced by left-to-right writing."

    It is also the origin of "zekamashi" etc common in fan arts instead of "Shimakaze" for example... it is our current bias to the writing of the day.
