It can't be done with a tn so I'll note it down here. Japaneses has some words regarding emotion under "love".

好き-suki, literally, it means "like". Often used in love confessions you can find in Japanese dramas, Anime, Manga, etc. Especially one with relationship between schoolers. It's translated as "love" in those situations but it only means "like".

愛-ai, "love", but in general. Includes all type of affections, mostly, good ones like friendship, family love, companionship, comradeship, etc. Used to say you care a lot about people around you but certainly, it's not to be used if you are talking about the "love" between a man and a woman that most people think of when they hear "love". Can be translated as "hold dear" depend on circumstances.

恋-koi, "love", the type that will get you married or broken down/heart broken. This, is the serious word you use in a relationship between a man and a woman bound by love. Used as to say you are truly in love with someone to the point binding your life with that person in marriage. Can be translated into "love" only, or like used above, "true love" though it kind of went too far.
