This is one heck of a traumatized Tatsuta

How did the collision happen? Was it happen on the surface, or was it happen when the sub was surfacing?

Long story short, Tatsuta hated submarines not because she was sunk by one,it's because she accidentally sunk a friendly submarine,and inadvertently killed entire crew in the process. The results gave her a mild case of PTSD.

Reading this now, I feel really bad for using her as the flagship for all those submarine expeditions...

I wouldn't say 'hated', so much as avoids due to fear of repeating the whole thing again.
