my speculation is that admiral use the old Zuikaku as his Flagship,, and sunk together with her,, and if you think about it,, the story take place at pos war,, but that just my random suggestion,, since there no log book or something that i can use to investigate

I'm thinking of it more to Seaport here lead a fleet that ended up killed the admiral. Also, I feel like this Zuikaku is not connected to the former Zuikaku, at least not much, since she didn't seem to remember the time when she was scolded by Kaga. It's more like this Zuikaku appeared on the late times when the admiral was still around.

Plausible, except for the part where Seaport princess spearheading a fleet since she is, well, a port. They don't move much.
As for me, I think Admiral-Shan was either MIA or KIA whilst trying to defend a fleet girl. You know, a noble sacrifice of sort. Said sacrifice somehow brought an end to the war. Probably by giving both sides an understanding of pain and suffering. Also, Zui was sunk and either Loli!Zui was found from the midst of destruction or after an undisclosed period of time, the abyssals found Loli!Zui and gave her to Kaga.
There are textual evidence that Loli!Zui remember her past life; she acknowledged the absence of Re-class' tail, acknowledged the existence and the lifetime of the admiral, and the fact that she knew she is in deep trouble with Kaga after making a mess. She may remember her past life, but she is still a child, after all.
Eh, I'm just trying to enjoy some light-hearted comedy here.
