I gave up after suffering heavy loss. Over 200 bucket, wasted over 30k resources, almost everyone of my girls are in red and an entire 2 weeks and I could barely even do any damage to the boss. I even forgot why I was doing the event. What a waste. The event pretty much drove me all the way up the wall.
I don't think I'll be playing kancolle for a while now.
Good thing I've been hoarding resources like crazy. I started with 300k fuel, ammo, steel and bauxite, 3000 buckets.
Right now I have 288.977 fuel, 291.396 ammo, 293.279 steel, 297.725 bauxite and 2957 buckets. So far, I've managed to kill the BB demon (E-6) twice. Just five more times I can clear this fucker.
Me a whole week ago. After going through E1-5 easily, E6 just doesn't let me through with a kill at boss. I can't even guaranty my arrival at boss, and when I could, those 2 Hime and that Ru Flag just don't let me have a kill. The most annoying thing was that even when the fleet came to boss with minor damage, all green, support goes hard, sinking Ru and the destroyers, dealing great damage to the 2 Hime having sunk Ne, just when I thought it's finally over with 1 night battle, EVERY SINGLE HITS IN NIGHT BATTLE IS A MISS even though the scout went through, star shell activated as well as search light. Not Sendai, Shigure, Yukikaze, Yuudachi, Fubuki or Kongou was able to do any damage. And to think I had prepared so well for the event that i could rush E1-5 easily.
I slept only 2 hours because I couldnt get Evil Kaga and E6 boss off my mind. My brain kept sending me the message, "Must kill those bitches, I WILL KILL those fucking bitches." Eventually woke up and my fleet blasted them. Good thing I dropped Roma before and seeing the costs I decided against farming for another Yuu.
I'm not alone here. Previous event I made it up to E-3 easy because all I was interested in was to get me a third submarine... with Lv 30 ships it was all I could achieve. Plus got a lot of new basic drops to clear as many expeditions I could later on. Now with Lv 60 units I could make it up to E-6 final form without changing to easy or medium a single time. 205 buckets were not enough so I quit trying 10 hours ago.
I spent, prepared and worked as much as I could, it can't be said I didn't tried, so I accepted defeat with dignity. This time I got me two new CV (Katsuragi/Shoukaku) when I only had 2 (Akagi/Souryuu), two FBB (Littorio/Roma), a first Nagato Class BB (Mutsu) and 5 Maruyu.
So if anyone says you went unprepared say them "f*ck you", because not everyone spends resources like crazy at LSC because you're spending what you have wisely on leveling what you own. :P
I'll be totally prepared for the next one, this time I'll make sure to clear all normal world maps before the event, not only up to 3-2/4-1. And I won't stop spamming 2,4 and 10 expeditions until that bucket counter reach 4 digits.
Oh! and for those bragging about how "easy" or "quick" to reach E-6 the event was, try to clear the event with leveled ships and equipment as equal as they were on your first event and see if you can say the same.

Can't help, considering all the mechanics we had going around now, it is sure to go that way. But hey, my first event was Ironbottom Sound, 1 month after i started playing the game. Needless to say i spent the whole stuck at E2, before clearing E3 just before event ended (oh my sweet child 53cm hull torpedo)
Wow, that was me in Winter 2015, right there. Cleared all the way to E3, but couldn't even scratch the boss of E4 to be worth the trouble. (Well, I started about a week before Winter 2015, so that was the best I could muster.) Ended up farming E1 for Akashi and Tokitsukaze, got both after several days.
This event, barely cleared E6 medium after one whole week of Last Dance. Spend a total of nearly 150 buckets on E6 alone (over half of that on Last Dance) and hit rock-bottom two days before finally clearing it. In the end, it all comes down to having proper supplies and equipments for your shipgirls to level them up to optimal performance.
