I think it's "funny" how even though Japan got two A-bombs dropped on 'm, they still refer to WWII in comical situations. FLCL and Azumanga, just to name a few. I'd think it'd be too humiliating and painfull to bring up.

The Japanese were part of the Axis power but they were not part of the Third Reich. I don't know about being put into a concentration camp but the Tojo's back then had too much honor to put on a uniform that wasn't their own.
