Using WoWS as reference. That's your problem there.

Well, to be fair, when Kongou was built, aircraft carrier is still a relatively new concept.

I did say in the game. She's a fine ship in real life even in her battlecruiser config (the US had muddled on how to deal with her with the eventuality of her modernization. I believe two were projected: Lexington during her battlecruiser period and the North Carolina that should be capable of countering her and that she did although it was Kirishima and it was her other sister Washington that whacked her hard) but the game is different. not really using the game as a full reference on her capabilities but her AA there is just... well... yeah.

Seems too accurate to me, I mean during Ten-go there were US aircraft over the fleet for three hours and the Japanese, with all that massed AA managed to shoot down a grand total of ten aircraft.
