So he's a terminator/wolverine gunslinger girl. Is there any mention yet on his life expectancy after all those surgeries and drugs?

Huh. That "drugs and surgery" comment there by the Admiral really drives home the whole "強化人間/Boosted Human" aspect to a whole new level.

Yet to think they still weren't enough against Abyssals, so humanity had to resort to resurrecting whole bodies so that they could be improved from scratch instead of just improving still-living soldiers...

Not long, but still long enough to survive murder attempt by hungry ship girls who try to take all the resources for themselves.

Could also explain how he could survive a torpedo up his face.

Speculah: That was who Inazuma was before she became critically injured and turned into shipgirl material. Probably volunteered for it on her deathbed, just so she can come back and save Lt. Kamio, but lost most of her memories during the conversion process.

(Along with most of her height and B/W/H stats.)

I guess this sheds new light on his training methods for the girls. He's assuming that since they've got better bodies from the get go they should be able to handle at least as much in terms of exercises as he did back in the IJA.

Problem with that reasoning is that freshly constructed shipgirls in this universe don't seem to have the same psychological hardening as his Army buddies and essentially have civilian mindsets with some war memories tacked on.

He might need to consider doing something different from just copying his old drill sarge.

It also explains how he can survive so much nanodeath. :|

    He tried the same method.
It doesn't break them significantly and they show increase in their performance index.
So his methods must be right and there's no need to change.

Eh...the author commentary outright states that "The girl in the old photo ≠ Inazuma", and it's less 'using a corpse' and more 'building from scratch using human chemical makeup', so that speculah doesn't seem to hold.

...Wow, we're getting into some Fullmetal stuff here.

It's fine if you don't know. Anyway, we were also doped with drugs that increases the density of our muscle fibers and other surgeries of the like...
More than half of our skeletons were replaced with an artificial transplant made out of a tantalum-titanium alloy. Ever heard of the Terminator or Wolverine?
But all of that ain't worth shit. It's like a piece of cake to enemies like those things, while our forces were almost wiped clean. To put it that way, shipgirls sure are amazing...
...We were simply human beings enhanced only in terms of the physical aspect.
...Don't you think it's unnerving about us?
    What are those?
It's one of the IJA's classified secrets though... How much do you know about it?
    ...Nope, not in the least.
    ...Transplantation? Of skeletons?
Yeah... the main part of the surgeries we undertook, was the transplantation of artificial skeletons.
Well... I've heard of it as a rumor among the higher ups in the navy forces. Something like adamant bodies that would not die easily...
My whole body was around 60%, while there were others who could adapt with 86% of it.
