But to be fair however, I think his torpedo cruisers are all solid levelers here but as far as level goes, its probably Ooi that got a crapton of XP.

Totally serious if it's just a cash issue bet you could get people to just give you the money if you did a kickstarter and asked around a bit. I'd give you a couple bucks, god knows I've spent money on worse things.

I would feel really bad taking money from the community, considering that it'd be at least $500 for a proper book scanner (flatbed or V)...

I wouldn't mind giving you money considering it would be used for the community (not 100% obviously) and if multiple people chipped in, even if it was only used once for community stuff the amount donated per person would be about the same as buying a book anyways. That's my view at least.
