    Both ships were Polish, not Dutch.

    賀蘭 was AOG-305. Polish fuel tanker, seized by ROCN on October 4, 1953. She was carrying 8000t of fuel and 380t of goods bound for Shanghai.

    天竺, AK-313. was originally called "Goldwa," built by Bremer Vulkan Vagessaok, launched in 1936. Seized by ROCN on May 15, 1954 for illicit shipment to PRC.

    會稽, AOG-306, Soviet vessel, built by Copenhagen Denmark Burmeister & Weins and launched on October 21, 1953 as the tanker "Tuapse." She was seized on June 24, 1954.

    Funny thing is, 賀蘭 (hèlán) sounds almost the same as 荷蘭 (hélán), which is the Chinese hanzification (sound approximation using hanzi) of Holland. Meanwhile, 天竺 (tiānzhú) is one word away from 天竺鼠 (tiānzhúshŭ), the Guinea pig (it literally means "Indian Rat" in Chinese), which can also be called the 荷兰猪 (hélánzhū), or "Dutch Pig".

    Coincidence?

    Exactly. Because of that I was completely convinced Holland was what written in there.
