It just came to mind....Muppo makes a really crappy 7-11/Big-7 worker.
She never smiles, she's clumsy and gets distracted too easily.

Although as a mascot, I would definately approve.

That's the point. She's trying to scare Tenryuu into paying for magazine, as she herself got chastised for reading a newspaper while working in an earlier strip.

This does make it ironic, though. "Fufu, ya scared?", indeed.

This is kinda funny since there is a book store near me that even has a spot with a couple of comfy couches and one of those knee high tables made for reading.

You could literally just pick up any book(or manga) and just read shit and the put it down when you're done and read another.

When I asked the manager why even have a comfy spot like that in the store his resposnse was "If you actually really like the book, you'll buy it then, and no one wants to buy a book they don't like."

Yes, but Hoppo is working in convenience store, and those are most likely magazines and other publications that have short shelf life.

If this happens with Muppo IRL , I would immediately turn my back and hug muppo

I also asked the same and the answer was similar: "if you read here and don't buy you'd not buy anyway. Besides those are actually more eyes against theft. I get annoyed if they crease the cover though"
