I hear shifting crap out of your usual walking route works too, and I don't see anyone calling that some brand of oriental voodoo.

People tight with money aren't going to pay a consultant to come to their office to tell them how much more they're going to have to spend to actually get a feng shui aligned workplace; only people with the money to do both steps are going to bother with the first. Of course, such people are already in a good position to at least keep their income (if not expand it), no feng shui required. Here's an example of how:

Someone with $1,000,000 can invest all of that into "safe" returns (3-5% return), and get ~$40,000 a year as a result. If you 'only' have $1,000 to invest, by contrast, you'll be incredibly lucky to make just $50, which is practically worthless outside the third world. But that $40,000? That's on a level of a salary; you can start paying a hedgefund to manage your money with that.

Now, what if you have $5,000,000 to invest? At that level, you can outright pay someone to focus *entirely* on making you money, even at that safe rate; that practically reduces the risk on other, "non-safe" investments, thus making larger returns more likely at virtually the same risk as the safe investment. Someone with <$1,000,000 to invest, by contrast, can only hope to make similar returns by taking massive risks.

Of course, a rich person isn't going to admit they were born lucky; they're going to attribute the money they make to their beliefs and habit (like feng shui); and people who aren't born rich, but become so, know damn well what really made them their money, and they don' take risks that could cost them what they've gained, like talking about how they really made their money.

Every success ritual in the world works flawlessly for the one that FIRST discovers it and is absolutely useless for everyone else.

Problem is that 100% of people either try to copy someone else's ritual or try to force their personally effective one upon others.

They apparently also spend a lot of money setting up red herrings to cover their tracks, judging from the fact that professional geomancers can be incredibly rich too.

    I'll just observe a little—
If you decorate there with those ornaments, then you shall have the good fortune with money!
Next, we remove what is on the other side!
You've got major cleaning to do back home!
Versed as I am in the magic of the five elements, I find this deeply interesting.
    Mukyuuu...

    I see, feng shui, eh...

What's this? Doing some remodeling, perhaps?
Personally, I'd only intended to do some light cleaning.

    Oh, Patchouli.
Futo just happened to come by and got all gung-ho to do something about the feng shui, and things ended up like this.
