  • HMCS Haida (G63)

HMCS Haida (G63) is a Tribal-class destroyer that served in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) from 1943-1963.

HMCS Haida is the last of the Tribal-class destroyers which saw heavy action with the Australian, British and Canadian navies during World War II. Built for the Royal Canadian Navy at Newcastle, England, in 1942, this ship served on the frigid Murmansk run and in clearing the English Channel for the Normandy invasion.

I would welcome it. Next foreign ships should be Canadian.

If anything, Haida here is the most suitable candidate. She's the most famous WW2 Canadian vessel, serving gallantly in the Atlantic theatre. She's also the only surviving example of a Tribal-class destroyer. She is currently moored at Hamilton, Ontario, at a museum dedicated to her.

I wouldn't mind if I can hear a verbal tic where they say "eh" in every sentence-

    Please forgive me.

Yes, yes you do. It's similar to a (Ny)Queen's accent, but politer.

I feel like ending every sentence with "Eh" would make a pretty good "Poi" equivalent.

According to some people, we do.

I don't know what it is, though.

we normal canadians only use "eh" as a sentence suffix when we ask a question:

    "How ya doin', eh?"

Hosers and people in the severely rural areas use it pretty much as a universal sentence ender though.
